How would you describe your music?
My music is very upbeat and basically pop. I’d say my music is memorable as that’s something I try to make sure of when writing

What was your reaction to the news you’d be playing the FSN final?
As a musician from Notts (I’m sure the other finalists can agree) it’s a great feeling to know that I’ll be playing one of the most iconic venues in Nottingham. Last time I was there I said to my friend ‘give it time and that’ll be me up there’ so I’m glad that my words came to life.

What can the Rock City crowd expect from your performance?
You can expect to have a great time, I hope.

Why did you enter FSN?
I try and get as many opportunities in Notts for music as possible, I saw the FSN opportunity on the last day of submission in the last hour. I knew about it in the past, but I never knew how to submit it in.

Who are your biggest musical influences?
As a child I was inspired by Ed Sheeran, still am to this day, I probably wouldn’t have pursued a career in music If it wasn’t for him. Also, The Jonas Brothers as I started singing Camp Rock songs at first.

What Nottingham artists are you loving at the minute?
Louis Croft is a great artist; he was a couple years older than me at school. Very reminiscent of a younger Jake Bugg. Skye Morrissey who is a friend of mine is definitely someone to keep an eye out for. She has nothing released yet but she has some great songs! And Ellie Stainsby, her voice and the way she is able to make a room silent is incredible.

What are your biggest non-musical influences?
My family for sure, they’re always pushing me to get the best and follow my dreams.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
I’d probably say getting the chance to do Rock City, to be honest, I’ve played on St. Patrick’s Day in the Market Square the last two years and I’ve enjoyed it so much. But I think my biggest achievement is being able to write and record music and then release it!

Any last words for LeftLion?
I’m so gassed to have been given this opportunity! If you’re free on 2 July, get your ass down to Rock City. It’s a free event and it would be great to see as many faces as possible. The other finalists are great and very excited to hear them too!

The Future Sound of Nottingham final will take place on 2 July. No tickets or booking required. Crowd participation is part of the final vote.
