World-famous Canadian circus company The 7 Fingers are coming to the Royal Concert Hall next month, bringing their unique blend of contemporary dance, awe-inspiring acrobatics and powerful tunes.
Passagers, the hit show wowing audiences across the continent, will explore our timeless fascination with travel when it comes to Nottingham on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 October.
Through the course of their journey in a temporarily suspended reality, a group of nine colourful strangers on a train get to know each other and share their stories through vaulting somersaults, breathtaking trapeze tricks and memorable original songs.
This one-of-a-kind experience marks The 7 Fingers’ first UK tour in eleven years, with original cofounder Shana Carroll directing the show.
She says: “Passagers was originally designed as an ode to travel - departure versus arrival, chance versus choice, familiar versus foreign, confinement versus border crossing. Those themes have taken on a new meaning for all of us recently, with the very idea of departing or arriving feeling like a distant dream.
“The show has now taken on a whole new dimension I’m not sure I could ever have imagined. I hope it will make us treasure the days of simple, liberating travel and celebrate a return to greater freedoms.”
First founded in 2002, The 7 Fingers have become renowned for telling human stories with life-enhancing theatricality, warmth and humour - and, after over a year without live performances, we could all do with a bit of that.
