Nottingham’s brightest sports event, the Louisey Rider Cup, is back for its fourth year on March 30th and is going to be bigger, better and more fun than ever before.

The charity roller derby tournament, hosted by Nottingham Roller Derby, is an annual event first staged in 2016 in memory of Louise Wright, team member and favourite of the roller derby community, who was killed in a road traffic accident on the junction of Pennyfoot Street and London Road in July 2014. Money raised from the event goes to road safety charity Brake who work tirelessly to support victims of road traffic accidents and promote road safety education to children and professionals.

Adults and children of all ages are welcome to come watch the event and learn a little bit about the world's fastest growing sport in a fun, community-based setting. Alongside the fast-paced sporting action the day will be packed to the brim with new features, including games, competitions and plenty of food and drink choices.

The legendary after party is also returning, this year hosted at the Castle Rock Brewery on Queensbridge Road. Entry to the after party is for adults only and comes with the price of a ticket, but is only available to those who attend the day event and collect their wristband.

For those uninitiated with the sport, roller derby is a fun, fast paced, action packed clash of two teams on skates bumping and barging their way to victory. Check out Nottingham Roller Derby's excellent guide for those attending a roller derby event for the first time.

The event runs all day with the first whistle rolling in at 9:50am, get yer £5 ticket through SeeTickets.
