After last year’s inaugural beer festival, Rescue Rooms are back at it again this Bank Holiday weekend.
Promising to build on last year’s beery shenanigans, The Rescue Rooms Beer Festival 2018 will showcase more than fifteen local and national craft breweries, lip smacking grub, and of course a whole load of quality music acts to keep the good vibes going throughout the day.
Beer-wise, there’ll be the cream of the crop of Nottingham and the East Mids, with the excellent Black Iris Brewery, Totally Brewed and Neon Raptor in attendance, newcomers Liquid Light, and the ever dependable Castle Rock, as well as Blue Monkey and Derby’s Shiny Brewery.
They’ll also be welcoming well loved craft favourites from the length and breadth of the UK, including big hitters like London’s Beavertown, Manchester’s Cloudwater and Alphabet Brewing Company, Leeds’ Northern Monk, Newport’s Tiny Rebel, Newcastle’s Wylam Brewery and Unbarred Brewery from Hove. So expect a wide range of styles to sample, from saisons to stouts.
Not that into beer? You’ll still be well catered for in the beverage department with tasty cider from Charnwood Brewery in Leicester, and local pressers Blue Barrel, who use local apples picked from around Nottingham.
Stomach lining opportunities will be provided in the form of Johnny Pusztai from the Snobby Butcher’s meaty wares, Mexican and South American-inspired street food-style dishes from Smoqued, and Pieminister will be bringing beer-soaking, pastry goodness, with meat, vegetarian and vegan options available.
There’s a full bill of live music throughout the day too, with Acoustic Rooms hosting some sweet sounds in the bar from the likes of Lorna Dea, Louis Croft, Cameron Sinclair Harris, Ben Mark Smith, Holly Fallon, Alice Dale, Jake Burns and Tayla-Jayde, with more acts taking the stage in the venue later on. The German oompah band, who proved very popular with revellers last year, will also be making a return to round things off.
Tickets are £10, which includes £5 worth of drink tokens and a a 2/3 pint branded festival glass. The price of admission also includes a £1 donation to local motor neurone disease charity The Broad Appeal.
