Monstrous Flesh: Women’s Bodies in Horror 
When: Monday 9 January, 7pm
Where: Broadway Cinema
How Much? £35- £70 for 10 weeks
Kicking off a ten week course, this Monday marks the start of the Monstrous Flesh course at Broadway Cinema. Dissecting the tropes surrounding women in horror alongside celebrating their contributions to the genre, this course, taught by Clelia McElroy has been incredibly popular in the past. Very Exciting.

Bodega Quiz
When: Tuesday 10 January, 7.30pm
Where: The Bodega
How Much? £2
If you haven’t already had quite enough quizzes over the Christmas period, then Bodega is hosting a really good one. Part of their regular quiz night events, head on over to Nottingham’s favourite indie venue this Tuesday to enjoy an eve of questions and pints. Known for being a good one, it’s a sure fire way to a chill night.

Chinese New Year: Brush Painting Workshops
When: Wednesday 11 January, 6pm
Where: Lakeside Arts
How Much? £7.50
Want to live New Year’s all over again? Head on down to Lakeside this Wednesday to take part in a Chinese New Year tradition. Taught by artist Feng-Ru Lee, this is the opportunity to learn the ancient art of brush painting with a special focus on animals, including the rabbit. Open to over sixteens.

Sunday Piano Series - Jeneba Kanneh Mason
When: Sunday 15 January, 11am
Where: Royal Concert Hall

Keyboard category finalist in the 2018 BBC Young Musician, Jeneba Kanneh-Mason made her BBC Proms debut in 2021 with the Chineke Orchestra. Now the young musician is playing at the Royal Concert Hall Sunday Piano Series. Performing a one hour show, including Beethoven’s Seventh Sonata, it’s going to be beautiful.

Peggy’s House Band Play Broadway
When: Sunday 15 January, 12pm
Where: Peggy’s Skylight
How Much? £10
Ending with some upbeat sounds, you can catch Peggy’s house band playing the tunes of Broadway this Sunday. Performing from the ‘golden era’ of jazz, expect to hear composers like Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern and more. Special songs include the likes of I Get A Kick Out Of You and I’ve Got You Under My Skin.
