Samit Patel - The Worst Way to Get Out in Cricket

After Notts provided three of the England team recently, we have a look at one cricketer's literal downfall

It was good to see Notts provide three of the England team for the decisive 3rd Test against Pakistan in Sharjah recently (with a fourth, Alex Hales, waiting patiently for his chance). Obviously Broady's nailed on, while James 'Titch' Taylor has been next cab of the rank for as long as it takes the possibly sizeist selectors to waddle down to the taxi stop.

But we did think Samit Patel's England days had gone, his talent for naughty noshing having trumped his skills as a wristy strokeplayer. While another trip to Asia meant another flirt with the Test side, we fear Samwich will always be a slightly comic, cult cricketing figure. Take this piece of running between the wickets, for example.
